Oh, we had a little party on The Island
There was Harry, there was Larry, there was space such space.
Oh we had a little party on The Island, and we had to carry Gary from the place. And we had to carry Gary to the ferry,
And we had to carry Gary to the shore.
And the reason we had to carry Gary to the ferry was that Gary couldn't carry any more.Kegger Backpack, Kegger Backpack
We're here to get so high
Kegger Backpack, Kegger Backpack
We'll drink this beer or know the reason whyAnd when we're through, we'll buy a case of booze
And we'll drink to the Kegger Backpack till we wobble in our shoesSing DRINK tra-la-la, DRINK tra-la-la,

Gonna get drunk tonight like I never been drunk before
Cuz when I'm drunk I'm as happy as can be,

"One of the reasons this song has been so hard for others to learn is that I keep changing the words. I originally learned it as a Cal. Frat drinking song while in the Boy Scouts and have been modifying it to fit this party since 1976. Don't be surprised if the words have changed again before the 30th annual."
Tom.

Island
What we call the spot where the party is held.
It is more of a peninsula where a large creek joins the river.
Gary
The name of several of our buddies, none of whom have ever been carried
out of the party and do not appreciate this verse. We have on one
occasion had to carry a woman who's back went out, but her name did not
rime with the other words in the song.
High
Too many to list
We'll drink this beer or know the reason why
A good reference to a bad keg of beer that was not discovered to be bad
until it had been carried in. It tasted like vinegar, and was so bad, we
had to poor it out.
May also lead some to remember the year the tap was sticking due to
having dirt in it. The tap was lubricated with sun tan oil. The lube
ended up in the beer, so each cup poured has an oil slick on the top, but
in this case, we drank it anyway.
FUN Family
Having been given the name "Tom FUN" by my niece when she was 3 years
old, we started calling our annual winter party the FUN Cabin, and our
extended group of partying friends the Fun Family.
this old tree
The giant pine tree at the main fire circle at the campsite.
27 trails
The most difficult route in and out of the party is known as "trail 27B".
I seem to find it at least once a year.
ain't no trails
Jeff Brown used to try to mark what he considered the easiest way with
trail markers, but no main trail has ever been established.
the four of us
Pat Williams, Tom Caton, Bucky McGrete and Tom McGonigle (See the history page).
tenth keg
Refers to the tenth annual party, that was so good, it deserves a toast.
six bucks
The price paid for a special alteration. Ask someone that was there.
