About half cook on an open fire. You may want to bring a grill to set on the rocks.
Of those cooking on a fire many use tinfoil cookery. Make up your meal the day before meats, fresh veggies, spices etc. Wrap it all in three layers of tin foil. Have it folded you can open a bit to see if it is done. You also may ad some water or broth or white wine ( or beer) right before you put it on the coals. Remove it from the cooler saturday up at the cars, and bring it down when you do a keg run. Then cook it up a few hours latter for dinner. The other half of the people bring camp stoves for cooking.
